“WONDERLAND” EXHIBITION ~ ACMI Collaboration
Work placement with ACMI provided the opportunity to create two hand-painted textile designs for the ‘Wonderland’ Exhibition merchandise. This world first exhibition celebrated the various portrayals of Alice and versions of Wonderland, depicted throughout 150 years since its first publication. The brief was to depict ‘Alice in Wonderland’ as you had never seen it before.
Eight hidden references to the iconic wonderland characters and objects can be found amongst the flora (Mad Hatter’s Hat, Caterpillar, Cheshire Cat’s tail, Clock, ‘Eat Me’ cookie, The Queen of Hearts Crown, pair of rabbits ears, teacups) , and so themes of adventure and curiosity are deeply embedded within the print.
